This year I’ve been working with Anna Wolf of the London College of Angelic Studies. I first attended one of Anna’s angel workshops in January and I’ve been working with her on and off throughout the year.

Through Anna I’ve learned a lot about Angels - what they are, how they function and how we can best utilize their loving assistance and guidance. I’ve benefited greatly from the angelic presence in my life and I want to pass on what I’ve learned so that you too can raise your vibration with the help of the angels. I’ll also share some practical exercises you can use to call on your Angels.

Are the Angels part of your life?

The law of attraction is becoming very mainstream, in spiritual circles. And people are beginning to open up to the idea of communicating with their guides and see the benefits of doing this. But not as many people bother calling on the angels. I had one client this week who calls on his guides but finds angels too ‘new-age’ for him. I can see why he thinks this. People who work with the angelic realm do tend to favour cutesy website designs which have hearts, flowers, doves and stuff on them and this cutesy vibe is a bit off-putting unless you like that kind of thing. However, if you think like my client, I challenge you to rethink your views about angels being too new-age or for sissies, because the angels are amazing, hardcore powerful beings. And…

Angels are not new-age!

It’s funny that my client thought that working with angels was too ‘new-age’, because angels are anything but ‘new-age’! If anything, they are ‘old-age’! They are featured in the Bible, in ancient/primitive literature and art of all kinds. They have been around, helping humanity, literally since time began.

But don’t think that because they’re featured in the Bible, they’re about religion. Angels assist all beings, without discrimination, whether you’re a Muslim, Jew, Christian or spiritual. They are outside of religion.

How do Angels function?

Angels are beings who are on a path of evolution that is entirely different from the human path of evolution. There are many different types of angel as there are types of human soul. Just to give you an idea of the variety - we all have guardian angels who protect us and guide us, Angels bring peace to sacred sites, there are angels of marriage who assist couples, there are Earth (elemental) angels who are involved in nature, there are angels of healing, there are also Angels incarnated among us.

Angels specialize in embodying energies like Love, Peace, compassion and healing. They then bring these special energies to those of us incarnated on Earth so that we may access them when our vibration is very low, in times of sorrow, grief and pain.

The Angels also help us to dispel more minor negativity in our mind and spirit. They heal us, they protect us, they eliminate our fears and give us guidance, (in much the same way as guides do.)

Is there much difference between guides and angels?

Yes, there is.

Guides are on the same path of evolution as human souls - most of them have experienced an Earthly incarnation before. The guides are here to nudge us gently onto the paths that bring us the most learning and freedom. They are spiritual helpers. Andrea Hess, in her book ‘Unlock your Intuition’ likens spirit guides to the doting aunts and uncles who give you loving guidance. By contrast, Angels don’t just guide. Your guardian Angels (you often have two or three of these around you) fulfill many roles - they protect you, help to keep you safe, help you to heal and make you feel loved and cared for.

How exactly can the Angels help me?

Angels can help you to:

Feel good, feel protected, feel loved, feel comforted, remember who you are, attract good-feeling life circumstances, bring joy to others, heal yourself, heal others, take the paths which align with your highest path and purpose, raise your vibration so that you can contribute more of your good energies to this funny old place which is Planet Earth. However, there is one condition to working with the angels:

They will only help you if you’re perfect and good, all the time.

Nah, I’m joking. The condition is that you must ask the Angels to come into your life and help you. You have to do this, just as you have to ask your guides to come into your life, because the Angels will not make themselves known and heard by you, until you request it. It’s the rule of free will.

And don’t just ask them to come into your life like a rote prayer. Put out the heart-felt intention to get to know your guardian angels; to feel the loving presence of the angels in your life. Understand what they can do for you and expect them to be there.

In 2006 I first read one of Doreen Virtue’s books about the Angelic Realm and in there she reminds the reader that Angels must be called on. So, I did this and was amazed at what happened. First of all, I met an angel in my dream spontaneously. I dreamed that I was waiting in line to buy a ticket at the local coach station. There was a woman right in front of me, with her back to me. In the dream, she turned around and looked me in the eye and said ‘you go in front of me’ and smiled. Looking into her eyes, it was clear that she was an Angel. A wave of emotion swept me and I feel very nurtured and loved. The eyes of the Angel were kind and gentle but also the kind of gaze that burns when you look at it. I woke up deeply moved from my dream and that feeling lasted for hours.

Shortly after that, I began to see angel lights around me and around others. Angel lights look like orbs of coloured lights. You often see them moving or in the corner of your eye. Some people believe that Angel lights are figments of our imagination. I don’t believe this because I never saw angel lights before in my life before I asked the angels to come into my life. I believe in Angels, as I believe in all manifestations of Spirit. At really low times in my life I’ve seen my bedroom full of sparkling, coloured lights, dancing in the dark. At times like those I’ve cried in gratitude at the playfulness and love of the angels. If you don’t believe in Angel lights - please don’t message me to say that this is a figment of my imagination. I fully trust in my perceptions and I’m manifesting according to my beliefs!

So, how do I begin a relationship with my guardian angels right now?

You don’t need to be psychic to do this (although psychic ability helps). Just call on your angels. Ask them to come into your life. Ask them to come into your dreams. Ask them to help you heal any resistance to manifesting your desires. Ask them to heal any issues from the past. Ask them to watch over your loved ones. Ask them to protect you. (Below I list some exercises to connect with your Angels.) Ask, ask, ask.

How will I know angels are around me?

If you’ve called on your Angels and you’re not seeing any signs of them, don’t get discouraged. They do often make themselves felt when you’re in a really low patch and need their comfort.
If you’re clairsentient, you’ll be naturally gifted in communicating with the Angelic realm because Angels communicate with us very much through our emotional body and clairsentients are usually very sensitive, emotionally. You know you’re in the presence of an Angel when a feeling of unearthly love sweeps you, or when you feel deeply cared for or moved for no reason. Angels feel warm, like a ray of light - You’ll never feel cold in the presence of an Angel.

Exercises to connect with the Angels

This exercise allows you to enhance the lives of others by sending loving gifts to them. I love to send energetic gifts to others through the Angels. It requires your visual imagination: Close your eyes and imagine your guardian angel in front of you (you can imagine your angel however you like). Imagine a beautiful box in front of you and feel the love, gratitude, appreciation, strength, peace which you desire to pass on to your recipient. Place that energy into the box and tie it up with a beautiful bow. Give it to the angel with instructions to pass it on to your desired person. This is especially effective if you need to forgive someone or want someone to forgive you.

This may sound like a silly exercise, but it works. An older member of our family was nursing her dying daughter this year and throughout all those times I sent love and strength on a daily basis (or when I remembered). She felt it because she kept telling me that her spirits would lift for no reason and she would feel comforted and loved, in spite of what was happening. In the end, I told her what I was doing and she said she definitely felt the presence of the Angels around her at those times.

Meet your angels in a dream or ask them for nocturnal healing

If you’ve never experienced the presence of an angel and don’t know what it feels like, ask the angels to come to you in a dream. If you’re feeling very discouraged or depressed, before you go to sleep, ask the Angels to heal and uplift you in the night. Again, I’ve had great results from doing this. I even dreamed of being in a place which looked like a hospital (but didn’t feel like one, thankfully), surrounded by angelic beings. After that dream, I woken up refreshed, renewed and feeling good, despite going to bed feeling depressed and downcast.

Give your cares to an Angel

If you’re in pain or grief and you need some serious healing, imagine putting all your cares in a big sack or bag and hand it to an Angel, then watch the Angel take your cares to the light of God, where the negativity is transmuted to love and returned to you in the same bag. Feel the love energy you get in return from the Angel.

White-light your possessions and ask for angelic protection

Call on Archangel Michael if you’re in fear and in need of some protection. When I’m on the London underground or walking in the street, I imagine a bubble of angelic protection around me. I also imagine Archangel Michael putting a white light around my handbag to protect it. You can also ask the Angels to protect your home when you’re gone by white-lighting it. If you’re worried about someone, rather than sending them the nasty dark stuff that is worry energy (which doesn’t help) call on that person’s guardian angel to protect them.

And trust the angels to help you - remember that Peace is faith in Spirit.

This is something I get asked often by clients and the answer is maybe. Here’s why:

Whether or not I can predict your future depends on what you’re asking me to predict.

If you’re asking me to tell you your destiny - such as, will you be famous, I won’t predict that. If you’re asking me to tell you what the outcome will be if you accept the job offer, then yes, I can predict that. In this article, I explain why I can predict some things but not others.

How predictions work

To make a prediction, a psychic will consciously (or not so consciously) tune into your ‘chart’ for this lifetime. Your ‘chart’ looks like a massive web of pathways that are available to you. You literally spend your life journeying through this web of possibilities, taking pathway after pathway. There are two types of ‘intersection’ on this web, as one pathway ends and a new one begins - these are called choice points and destiny points.

Choice Points

There are thousands of choice points in your ‘web’ of possibilities. When we’re at a choice point intersection, in the physical we have to make a decision about something which will impact on our future. At first glance, it may not seem like a choice that will make a difference. It may simply be whether or not to buy a certain book or whether to go on a workshop or whether to say yes to someone’s invitation. On this energetic ‘web’ of possibilities, there are five pathways of possibility leading towards the choice point and five pathways of possibility leading away from a choice point. We can take whichever path we want. The path we choose will lead us to another choice point, and when we take one of those paths, it will lead us to another choice point and so it goes on. The series of pathways that we take collectively make up the unique path that we choose for our life. But there are different pathways available to us as well, if we want them.

Destiny Points

The other kind of intersection to be found on this web of possibilities is the Destiny Point. You usually have between 10 and 30 destiny points on your web of possibilities. These are the major, predestined events of your life; the events you chose to experience before you even incarnate. Not all of these events are 100% predestined, however - there is an element of flexibility involved. For example, you could choose to have a relationship with a particular soul during your lifetime, but it may not be predestined how long the relationship lasts or when you will meet.

The first destiny point on your web of possibilities is always your birth and the last destiny point will always be your death. The others may relate to certain relationships you will have in your lifetime (as the example above) they could relate to work that you will do, the conception and birth of children (this is usually predestined for women), health challenges you experience, chance meetings you will have, etc.

What can psychics accurately predict?

With this in mind, most good psychics can accurately predict the following:

- What your destiny points are in your life - i.e. the major events and relationships

- If a client is currently at a choice point, a good psychic can usually tell what the outcome will be if they take such-and-such a path. This is useful because if you’re going down a dead-end (ie. a pathway that does not align with your desired outcome or your highest path and purpose) a psychic can let you know and save you time and energy.

What I cannot predict

- If you’re asking me to predict a major life event and there’s no destiny point present for it, then I can’t make an accurate prediction. There are so many choice point paths for you to take along the way - and your future shifts and changes with each path you take.

- It’s also rare to be able to predict exact details of destiny points - like timing.

When predictions are unhelpful

I personally shy away from making predictions about future events, because often it’s not in our best interests to receive a prediction. There are a few reasons for this:

1. Predictions spoil the surprise

I am constantly amazed by the unpredictable and exciting ways in which I manifest my desires. On the few occasions that a psychic has given me information about how things are going to play out, instead of it being exciting, it has felt like an anti-climax - a bit like ‘game over’ on a computer game. Or knowing what your Christmas presents are before you’ve unwrapped them - makes the unwrapping process less exciting, doesn’t it?

2. Predictions can encourage us to give away our power

The desire for predictions/ the reassurance that predictions bring, is based on a world-view, one which I do not ascribe to, which says ‘We’re not in control of our future, therefore we need to know what’s coming up’.

Sometimes a psychic with this world-view can, in good faith, give someone a prediction, believing it’s 100% certain and it turns out it’s just one of the many pathways available to them on their ‘chart’. But that prediction has already narrowed down their view of the choices before them.

And once the client has taken that prediction to heart (maybe because they like the way it sounds), that person can hand themselves over to ‘fate’ and begin to manifest according to the prediction. It can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. That may be all right if it’s something they want to experience, but what if energetically it’s a dead-end for them or something they don’t want to experience? It may be a dead-end with a lesson contained within it, but it’s still a dead-end. Which leads me to my next point.

3. Sometimes our Higher Self/Guides knowingly give us false information about the future

‘What?’ I hear you cry! ‘My guides and Higher Self would NEVER give me false information!’

That’s what I thought too. I am going to tell you an embarrassing story which illustrates that intuitive information can at times be purposely false.

Late last year, I was in the final phase of my spiritual healing training and learning all about destiny points and choice points. I was also in a relationship with a man who lived in London. (I was living in Spain at the time.) This fellow was doing the same spiritual healing training as me and we were both fascinated with the idea of destiny points - a little too fascinated for our own good.

One day, we did a bit of research together into our respective destiny points - we wanted to know which destiny points were in the life area of relationships, health, work, finances, etc. And in the process my ex-boyfriend discovered some information about a destiny point that we shared - he found that one of my destiny points was to have a child. With him. Oh, yes! The timing wasn’t predetermined, but we were to have a child together. Our relationship fell apart soon after that because we believed in the information available in the Akashic Record (we’d seen real-world evidence of it). But our relationship only fell apart after I had left my job in Spain and set up my new healing business, because I thought my future was in London with this guy. Was it in my highest path and purpose to have a baby with this guy? No!

But it WAS in my highest path and purpose to leave Spain, move to London and start my own business. So you can see the motive behind the false prediction. It caused me to leave my teaching job (which I was tired of) and take some big, scary steps towards a new career, which I may not have taken otherwise. That false prediction gave me the illusion of safety which I needed in order to change my life.

In fact, we later found out that the ‘destiny point’ did not exist - he asked our teacher to check it and she found no such destiny point. He hadn’t made the whole thing up, but rather he had been given misinformation about it. The destiny point mysteriously disappeared from our soul records once it had served its purpose.

The moral of this story is: don’t go looking for information about your future unless you can handle it and/or you’re OK with receiving misinformation if your Higher Self happens to see an opportunity to get you back on track to take the paths which are in alignment with your highest path and purpose

So, recently I’ve been working on a new healing method, that I’m really excited to share with you.

It’s my new six-step method for spiritual healing - I’m calling it ‘Heal your past, change your present‘ (it does what it says it does - it heals your past and helps you to change your present!).

I’m now working with two spiritual healing modalities, which gives me quite a lot of tools in my ‘healing toolbox’. If you’ve read my ‘about me’ page, you’ll know that I trained in Soul Realignment™ and have been mostly using that with clients since summer 2007.

What is Soul Realignment™?

Soul Realignment™ involves accessing the Akashic Record to find out information about people’s energetic blockages, from past lifetimes and present lifetimes. It also enables me to do psychic readings for people, like the Soul Purpose & profile reading, where I tell people information about their soul, past and purpose.

Soul Realignment™ is a really effective healing modality if the practitioner has some level of intuitive/psychic ability. The beauty of this method is that it diagnoses and unearths issues that clients have been living with for a long time and just sweeping under the carpet. I love using this modality and have had great results from it.

Soul Realignment™: many strengths, a few limitations

However, this year I noticed that I was getting clients with problems and issues which could not be resolved using Soul Realignment™. These people were wanting healing around traumatic experiences, fears and phobias which had their origins in this lifetime. They did not need me to diagnose anything - they already knew where the issues came from and they wanted to resolve them. But I was not qualified to help them with that.

Introducing two new healing sessions

So, to expand my repertoire a bit, I asked a colleague of mine to teach me some spiritual healing for healing present-life issues. In June, I began to use her methods with clients who wanted to heal their relationships and as I did, I began to see and understand the principles which underlay the spiritual healing and out of that I adapted and evolved my own method, which I’m offering in the ‘Heal your past, change your present‘ and ‘Cord Cutting‘ sessions.

So far, I have used these methods to help clients to heal:

-Irrational fears

-Ongoing difficult relationships

-Family-related pain/trauma

-All sorts of trauma (war trauma, abuse trauma, etc )

It’s also good for letting go of past relationships and the negative feelings associated with them.

The Benefits

The results I’ve seen from this have been pretty amazing (and people who know me also know that I do not overstate things - I’m a fairly realistic, results-oriented person). If something doesn’t work, I ditch it pretty quickly.

If I could sum up the benefit of this modality in one sentence, I’d say it allows you to shut the door, once and for all, on anything from the past or present (or anyone from the past) which still bothers you, makes you feel like garbage or occupies your mental space.

I use this healing method of angelic releasing on myself a lot because it helps me to manifest more of what I do want. For example, when I become aware of an emotion or thought or belief that I hold, which is making me manifest something that I don’t want, I use this method to ‘pluck’ that belief/pattern right out of my energy field - and it really works! It’s very much like EFT (but probably more effective! Don’t tell Gary Craig I said that )

An example of this healing method in practice: becoming immune to noise

Up until last summer I was super-sensitive to noise. If there was any kind of noise in the background, I could not sleep or concentrate. When I moved to South-East London in July and into my new flat, I knew I was going to have to do something about my noise sensitivity because the couple across the hall were constantly arguing and yelling at one other and throwing each other out of their flat. The man two floors below me was playing the organ for four hours a day, sometimes until 11pm (I’m not kidding) and the people below me had a screaming baby. I decided that I could either (1) give up and find another place to live (2) complain to all of them (3) try out my new angelic healing method to see what happened.

I work from home and home being in London (big city, lots of noise), I knew that it wasn’t terribly practical or realistic to try to get everyone to shut up all day long. So instead I tried out the angelic healing method and worked on all of the times I had felt angry, powerless about inconsiderate neighbours who had prevented me from sleeping and working. And amazingly, afterwards I noticed that I was no longer feeling any negativity when I heard noise from other people anymore. I had managed to completely get rid of my noise-related anger and frustration. Now, five months later if someone plays loud music in the flat below when I’m sleeping, then I may wake up, but there is still no anger or frustration attached to the experience - instead I go back to sleep! It just doesn’t register on my annoyance radar.

By the way if you’re curious about cords and what they are and how we make them with people, I have some information about them on my angelic healing page.

And if you’re interested in learning the six-step system that I’ve developed for cutting cords and healing present-life issues, for yourself or for others, let me know via my contact form and I’ll email you when it’s ready. I’m currently working on a mini-email course.

An additional reading option: Purpose and Career

I also wanted to announce that I have a new, really inexpensive session - the Purpose & Career Consultation (priced at £60, which is a bit of a Christmas bargain). I’ll be offering this for a limited time, depending on the demand. In this reading, I read your Akashic Record to see what it says about your soul’s purpose and in the session we address how you can express this more in your work. So this could be a nice (Christmas) present to give to yourself if your present career is (1) going nowhere (2) non-existent (3) slowly killing you.

When I was eighteen, I went to work in a hotel in France for the summer, with the aim of improving my French. While I was there, I had the strangest dream I’d ever had. This is what happened:

I was in Paris, outside a locked car which was parked in the street. Inside the car was an African baby. There was no air, water or food in the car and the baby was dying. There were many people around the car, some who wanted to rescue the baby, some were just observing. There was a sad, inevitable atmosphere in the dream - we were waiting for the baby to die and we could not prevent his death.

In the night, I woke up, feeling quite disturbed and haunted by the dream. When I went back to sleep, I dreamt of the same thing. It was so awful that I kept waking up. I tried to sleep a couple more times but each time, I returned to the same dream. And the very last time that I fell asleep, the baby was out of the car and someone was holding him. He died in their arms. After that, I gave up trying to sleep as I did not want to dream about it again.

I went into work really tired that morning and the radio was on, as usual. Literally the very first piece of news that I heard was that a baby of African origin had been found dead in a locked car in Paris, they thought he had been left there overnight and died of dehydration. Of course, when I heard that a shiver ran down my spine, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up and I got goosebumps (Ok, maybe not all at the same time, but suffice to say that I was freaked out!)

And I thought about the experience a lot over the next few days. I wondered what this experience was. Was it just a dream - a ‘coincidence’? Or was I actually there in Spirit?

If I was of a more skeptical mindset, I would probably have attributed my dream to a coincidence (that word that skeptics love so much). But instead I concluded that my dream was somehow linked to the actual event. I felt haunted by the dream, in a way that a dream had not haunted me before. I felt some sort of connection to the baby.

Prior to that experience, I had never really thought too much about dreams - I had lots of weird dreams, sure, but I did not pay so much attention to the meaning of them or think they were ‘real’.

Later on, when I did my training in spiritual healing, I learned that our dreams are real experiences, which take place on the astral planes. Some of them we have because we need to learn something from them. Others we don’t need to remember as much.

Here are three common activities that we do when we’re asleep:

1. Learning through Role-playing

Have you ever had a dream that taught you a real lesson? Some of our dream experiences happen because there is a lesson contained within them, that we are meant to remember and take on board.

Here’s an example: if you’re someone who is very giving, to a fault, in your daily life, and you need to learn to balance giving with receiving, you could be in a dream situation where you experience direct negative consequences as a result of giving too much to others. And when you wake up, you realize that it doesn’t serve you to be the one who’s always giving and never receiving.

Sometimes your guides and teachers can be involved in your role-playing, to help you to learn these lessons and at other times, you may see souls in your dreams whom you do not recognize. These souls are undoubtedly ‘Dream masters’ - souls who serve you by playing parts in your dreams, to help you to learn something. You could be a Dream master yourself - especially if you have lots of dreams that don’t make sense or have any lessons for you in them.

2. Consulting with guides, angels and spiritual teachers

Some people aren’t skilled at connecting with their guides because they’re too afraid to open up. The most un-scary way that your guides can pass on a message to you is in a dream, and they often do this, but not all of them are always remembered by the conscious mind. Sometimes guides can show you metaphors, sometimes you have conversations with them. Mine have even played songs to me to give me a certain message. If there is something which I am missing about any aspect of my life that I really ought to be seeing, I know that my guides will come to me in a dream and let me know about it.

The last time they did this was last year, when I heard from an old school friend of mine that our high school Spanish teacher, Mr Owen, had passed away. I was sad and sorry for his family - he wasn’t even that old. But then shortly after hearing the news, I had a dream in which one of my guides informed me that Mr Owen wasn’t dead and that it was just a rumour.

I wanted to check, so I wrote to my old German teacher to ask her if she’d heard the same news. She replied to say that she rang Mr Owen and he was alive and well - so, it was a rumour, nothing more. Now I always pay attention when I remember having spoken to my guides about something in a dream!

If you don’t really make use of your guides or are looking to develop your psychic abilities, it helps to intend to speak with your guides in your dreams. I say that firstly because it’s so easy for your guides to reach you when you‘re asleep. They may even have some tips or instructions for you to contact them in your waking hours.

3. Helping other souls to cross over (Third Order work)

The Third Order is the spiritual order (group of spirits) which comes for you when you die, to help you to cross over to the other side. Some of us have worked in the Third Order in between our physical incarnations and if so, we bring our Third Order skills into the physical with us.

Obviously, when you’re in a physical body, you can’t work as a member of the Third Order. But I have read for quite a lot of people who belong to this spiritual order and a few of them have told me that they dream of helping spirits who are earthbound to cross over or of helping souls who are otherwise ‘stuck’ to set themselves free.

This could have been what I was doing in my dream about the African baby. Lately I often dream I’m helping stuck or earthbound souls. The souls that I dream about are very real to me. Maybe I should start demanding astral payment!

******************************************************

So, voila - three ways in which dreams can be very, very meaningful. Contrary to what you may have heard, dreams are not always about our subconscious mind talking to us - they are actually part of our connection to Source. And there’s no reason why we would not want to remember dreams, except of course, if we have unpleasant dreams. If this is the case, you could be travelling to the negative astrals.

The negative astrals are a pretty unpleasant place to visit and you will have nightmares and nasty dreams if you go there. If you’re often having disturbing dreams or nightmares, you could have a portal way open in your subconscious to the negative astrals.

To close the portal way, light a candle, sit quietly and focus on your breath for a few minutes, to slow down your vibration, then read the following prayer:

“Creator of all beings, Divine Archangels, my Astral Guide, my own personal team of Guides, Teachers and Angels, please close the portal way in my subconscious, that leads to the negative astrals, for all time, so that it may never be re-opened. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

Please leave a comment if you have something to relate about your astral experiences!

“Life expands or contracts in proportion to one’s courage” Anais Nin.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could put aside all our fears and pursue our dreams fearlessly? Imagine how much more you could achieve and experience, if you had no fear at all to go after whatever you wanted.

If fear/love is a spectrum, it’s certainly more helpful to be more towards the ‘love’ end of the spectrum than the ‘fear’ end. But most of us consider fear to be a natural, in-built human response which drives our most basic actions. And we’d probably feel some resistance to eliminating our fear altogether, as the accepted idea is that fear serves us in some cases - that it’s ‘better to be safe than sorry’.

But from a spiritual perspective, Fear is:

False

Evidence

Appearing

Real

(that’s Neale Donald Walsch’s clever acronym, not mine!)

Spiritually, fear is never grounded in truth. Rather, it is an illusion; the domain of the ego and a conditioned response. As babies, fresh from the spiritual realm, we have no fear. Instead, as we grow, we learn fear and absorb it from our environments. We are told not to touch that, not to do that, not to talk to strangers. We indirectly learn to fear the consequences of everything we do. Then, as we get older and understand the world and pay attention to the media, to our fears we can add the fear of death, destruction, evil, and disasters.

Some people buy into their fears to such an extent that they get to the point where they’re unable to move forwards in life or paralyzed by their fear. One major fear that keeps people stuck (and I personally see a lot of it in my sessions) is the very understandable fear of the unknown and a fear of the future - or rather, a fear of bad things happening in the future.

At the end of a session with me, people get to ask questions of their guides or higher self and they often ask things like ‘I want to leave my spouse, but if I do, will I ever find someone else?’ or ‘If I quit my job and start my new business, will I pay be able to pay the bills?’

I’m sure we’ve all asked questions like those before (I know I have!), as we’re all conditioned to fear lack, pain, struggle and being alone.

It’s interesting to hear the guides’ answers to such questions. Usually, rather than giving predictions to reassure people, the guides tend to deconstruct people’s fear. I’m going to share some of what I’ve learned from the guides’ spiritual perspectives about our human fears.

Deconstructing fear

The most important information from the guides is that in spite of what we’ve learned, our fears are never beneficial - they are in every case totally out of resonance with who we are as spiritual beings. When we’re living 100% in alignment with our spirit, we have no fear. We are like intrepid children. The soul does not even fear death because it knows, on a deep level, that we can never be harmed or hurt in any way. The soul knows that your consciousness - the energy that is you - can never be destroyed. Of course, we know the physical body can be damaged and die, but on a soul level, the impermanence of our physical being is something we embrace. Our souls choose to come into this world because we have a hunger for growth, for experience, for expansion, not because we want to avoid death, or discomfort or pain.

Taking the sting out of ‘negative’ experiences

The second reason why living in fear makes little sense from a spiritual perspective is because we are always in control of every experience which comes our way. Before you even incarnate, you choose the family you will incarnate into. When you’re here in a body, the principal mechanism by which you choose all your experiences is the law of attraction, although some major experiences you may have chosen for yourself long before you incarnated.

And because you are a being of love, you, in your wisdom, always choose for yourself the most loving experiences possible. You may be thinking - hang on a moment, I didn’t send myself the bankruptcy or my illness. But sending yourself loving experiences does not mean that you always send yourself the most enjoyable, pleasant experiences. It does mean that you send yourself exactly the right experiences needed in order to grow, expand and learn what you need to. We choose all our experiences with a deep knowing of our own inner strength and the power of our spirit. We have no doubt about our capability to draw something good and learn something, even when the going gets really tough.

A recent example of this which I came across in my own life was on a recent workshop when I heard a very moving and inspiring story from a lady who had breast cancer. She told the group that she felt that she was meant to have cancer, and that it changed her life for the better. After her illness, as she realized that life was fleeting and precious, she quit her ‘boring’ job (her words) and began training as a nurse, which she had always wanted to do. She also volunteered to act as a help and mentor to other women with cancer. Her marriage was stronger because of the experience and she had a renewed lust for life. She said that if she could choose again, she would choose the cancer, because it shook her out of an existence that she wasn’t particularly enjoying or valuing.

So, the belief that you are selecting your own experiences and trusting in your own judgement as a soul is one way to overcome your fear of ‘bad’ stuff happening in the future, as you know you will never send yourself experiences that you cannot handle.

It can help to eliminate fear even further if you can let go of your attachment that you should only choose ‘good’ experiences; and meet all experiences with the same attitude. This involves regarding anything that happens to you as a blessing, even if others label it as ‘bad’. (As an aside, Byron Katie’s method of inquiry ‘the work’ is perhaps the most effective way of letting go of attachment in this respect. Check out her website www.thework.com for more on this.) Byron Katie is a an amazing teacher of non-attachment - I read in her book ‘A Thousand Names for Joy’ that even when she was robbed at gunpoint and was in danger of dying, she felt no fear, only fascination that she had manifested such an experience for herself. (I would love to be fearless to such a degree!)

However, this idea that all experiences, including the so-called ‘bad’ ones are always blessings, is usually met with a lot of resistance and controversy as many people are understandably attached to the fact that X, Y, or Z should not have befallen them.

If you can get past that, try examining your past and the experiences, including the seemingly negative ones, which you have chosen thus far. You might like to think about why you would have chosen to experience what you have, even if it was painful. It can be beneficial to understand your ‘negative’ experiences even until you can safely say that you would not fear those experiences if they came around again.

As things occur in your life, try getting into the habit of thinking ‘what can I learn from this?’ and ‘why have chosen this experience?’ and remember that you are the creator of your life, rather than slipping into the idea that you are at the whim and mercy of a God or a Universe which will send you misfortunes at random. (This is what most people believe and it is a recipe for living in fear.)

Take more risks

Another practical way to reconcile these spiritual ideas with your life and live fearlessly is by practising taking risks. You do not need to begin with life-changing risks. If you’re someone who likes to remain within your comfort zone, take some small risks - even little things such as trying things which you’re not sure you will like or reach out to someone even if you doubt that your friendliness will be reciprocated. Taking risks, big or small, allows you to get a taste for how supported you are by the Universe in the outcomes you experience. It also enables you to learn non-attachment to the positive feelings/outcomes and the negative feelings/outcomes that may result from the risks you take.

This year I have done quite a lot of risk-taking. One risk that I took was in February - I quit my teaching job in Spain to move to the UK to set up my full-time healing business. When I quit my job, I left with little money, no website, no knowledge of how to create a website, a tiny client base and no knowledge or experience in business. I had no steady work coming in and a need to make an income right away. The people around me thought I was crazy and I myself expected that I would probably have to get another job - maybe one which I disliked even more than the job I’d just quit.

But, shortly after leaving my job, I created this website, with the help of a friend and I acquired a business mentor, who helped me in so many ways. Everywhere I went I met people I could help or people who referred clients to me. And my business began to expand. Even when my computer broke when I was in the middle of setting up my online business, I manifested a new one very quickly!

Taking that risk, although it was not exactly a life and death situation, made me more willing to take risks in the future and less fearful about my security and that to me is quite valuable. I think that my life has indeed expanded in proportion to the courage I developed, as new avenues have opened up, which I would never have dared take before.

For me, the key to taking that risk was that I disliked my situation so much that even quitting my job and failing in my business seemed preferable to staying where I was.

What the guides say…

So, the spiritual answer to whether we should take a risk and quit our job or do whatever else we want to do (that is in our highest path and purpose) is this:

We are literally in control of all our experiences, so we do not need to ask a psychic to predict an outcome about our own lives. The real question is not ‘will this happen?’ but rather ‘what will I choose?’ And even if we do not get exactly what we consciously wished for, we can be sure that we have chosen something even better for ourselves, no matter what ‘packaging’ the experience comes in.

Have you taken any risks lately, in life or in business - and do you think they served you? Or have you learned to overcome your fears? Please leave a comment below!

Since I introduced my new taster session I have received lots of questions about ‘soul groups of origination’ - namely what are they and how they are relevant, so I thought I’d answer them in a blog post - it is a fairly interesting (albeit wacky) topic in itself.

If you don’t believe that you have a soul, then this information will be of no interest to you at all. However, if you’re reading my blog, I can probably assume you believe you have a soul, that’s to say, a part of you which is timeless - you can call this your spirit or Higher Self or soul. You are connected to this part of you in all lifetimes. In fact, your soul is not really separate from you. It is you. You could say that your soul is the TRUE you, as opposed to your egoic identity or personality. The more you align with your spirit and allow your spirit to guide your life, the more fulfillment and abundance you experience.

Where does your soul come from?

We all come from Source or the Creator - we are all Source energy in physical bodies. When we’re fresh from Source, we are nurtured and prepared for our very first incarnation by a special spiritual order. We then choose a place of incarnation.

Some souls choose straight away to incarnate on Earth. But some souls choose to begin their first incarnation in another star system, like Sirius or the Pleiades, just to give a couple of well-known examples. Those who have experienced their first incarnation elsewhere (or in fact, any incarnation elsewhere) are called star travellers or ‘star seed’.

Why does your first place of incarnation matter?

All star systems work with different types of energies. For example, in the Pleiades, they work with fiery energies - the energies are speedy and dynamic. When we incarnate in any given place for the first time, the energies of that star system or planet become a part of our energetic blueprint and we carry those energies forward into all subsequent incarnations. So if you experience your first incarnation in the Pleiades star system, you will become imbued with those fiery energies and you will express those in all subsequent incarnations, no matter where the incarnation is. You will inspire others with your dynamism and ‘just do it’ attitude. And it actually becomes part of your purpose to contribute those special soul-level energies in places where they are needed.

Am I a star traveller?

Star travellers are fairly easy to spot. They are quite different from those souls who have only ever experienced Earth incarnations. According to my guides, about 22-23% of the Earth’s population are star travellers.

Star travellers tend to:

- identify as light workers - they know on a deep level that they’re here to contribute their special energies and gifts to raise the vibration of Earth and to raise consciousness

- feel out-of-place and as if they don’t belong, especially if they’re mainly around Earth souls

- often feel dissatisfied with the state of our planet - they know there is a better way, because they’ve experienced and lived it

- feel connected to the spiritual realm and motivated in their spiritual development, to some degree or other

Basically, star travellers are different from Earth souls because they come in with an entirely different perspective (and agenda).

There are over twenty different soul groups. Each group has a collective past which governs their challenges, their Achilles heel and their gifts and strengths. It can be very validating to know why you feel as you do, why you are good at some things and find other aspects a challenge. It’s good to know your strengths so that you can focus on those, instead of beating yourself up for your weaknesses, which so many people do.

The thing about soul groups is that it all sounds really weird and a lot like something from Star Wars. I remember when I had a reading with my teacher a while back, she told me my soul group of origination which is Sirian. Half of me totally identified with the very specific information she gave me about my Sirian identity, and half of me was thinking ‘this woman is telling me which planet I’m from and I’m believing her, I need to get my head checked out by a doctor’. I also thought that lots of people feel out-of-place and as if they don’t belong - some of the information initally seemed too general. Only half of me actually believed that I was a star traveller soul, or even that such a thing existed.

It was only later on, when I started giving readings that I saw that clients identified time and again with their soul group of origination and the traits associated with the soul groups, general and specific. It is an amazing thing to experience, which has truly given me confidence in the veracity of the soul group information that is available to us.

How do we know about the soul groups?

Representatives of the different soul groups have been present on Earth since time began and some people remember where they came from! Plus many of the soul groups have been channelled. More recently (as in, within the last thirty years or so), an American named Arlen Bock channelled some very specific information about soul groups and passed it on to his students who saw certain traits and patterns in the various soul groups that they read for and further expanded on the information.

How can you find out your soul group?

- Book a reading or taster session with me.

- Read ‘Soul Mastery’ by Susann Taylor Schier. It’s sold on Amazon.com. This book is designed to help you to work out which soul group you belong to, as you read the descriptions and see what resonates with you.

- Do some research on the soul groups and then meditate on it. See if you feel a connection to a particular star system (however, be aware that not all of the information you find on the internet about aliens or star groups may resonate - it’s up to you to take what resonates and leave what doesn’t!)

In your research, you may wish to read Barbara Hand-Clow’s channelled book ‘The Pleidean Agenda’. Then there is Barbara Marciniak’s book channelled from the Pleideans, ‘Bringers of the Dawn’ (which I can’t officially recommend because I haven’t read it, but have heard that it is good.)

For information on the Sirians, there is a website called www.Sirianrevelations.net

I don’t endorse this website as not all of the info resonates with me and I haven‘t read through all of it, but a part of what I have read so far does resonate.

Despite my initial skepticism, the topic of soul groups has become my favourite topic to write about and learn about. It’s so fascinating to learn more about the amazing history of the different soul groups on Earth and to see which groups have incarnated when and where in different periods of history. For example, right now the Indigo children who are arriving here in hoards belong to one soul group in particular.

It’s also interesting to see who the souls are around us. I attract only star travellers into my practice. Around 90% of my clientele comes from one soul group in particular, which is amazing because there are so many different soul groups incarnated here. However, in my personal life, I attract a wide range different soul groups (all star travellers).

Do you know what soul group you belong to? Or have something to add to this? Please leave a comment below!

Clairvoyance means ‘clear-seeing’. Almost everyone knows what clairvoyance is - it’s the ability to see Spirit. Clairvoyants can see auras, spirits, symbols and get visual premonitions.

Some clairvoyants see things in their mind’s eye and some can see with their physical eyes. Both are possible, but it’s more common to see in the mind’s eye. Whereas a clairsentient might look at your photo and pick up on your feelings and emotions, a clairvoyant would probably see your aura, the essence of your spirit and spirit guides or angels around you. When reading a situation, a clairvoyant may see a symbol or a movie-scene which is a metaphor for the situation.

Receiving clairvoyant images is one thing, but not all clairvoyants are gifted at interpreting what they see. To interpret, you need to use your claircognizance or clairaudience as well.

I’ve written articles on the three other major psychic gifts: Clairaudience, Clairsentience, and Claircognizance. The reason why I didn’t write an article about clairvoyance sooner is because clairvoyance is really not a common psychic gift.

On the other hand, I felt really compelled to write about claircognizance and clairsentience because they are so common and the people who have these gifts often do not know that they even constitute gifts which can be developed. By contrast, in my mini-readings, I’ve only read for about ten people who have been natural clairvoyants (that’s about ten people out of 350) and most of those people knew about their clairvoyance. I guess this rare factor could be why clairvoyance is thought of as THE psychic gift to have, because it’s more exclusive somehow.

Is clairvoyance better than the other psychic gifts, like clairaudience or clairsentience? I don’t think so. All the intuitive vehicles are meant to work together. In fact, I’d say that clairvoyance is not always needed, unless you’re a medium or something. I mean, think about it. You need your clairsentience, to pick up vibes from people and to empathize. You can do with clairaudience as well, to get quick warnings from your guides or higher self, like ‘run!’ or ‘don’t take that road’. But I can’t think of any situations where clairvoyance is absolutely necessary in daily life, unless you do psychic readings in your work. I personally do not require the use of clairvoyance in my work much. I do sometimes ’see’ clients’ past lives, but when I need to know details about a situation, my guides will tend to just put the information into my brain, rather than sending me symbols or metaphors or images.

How to develop your clairvoyance

Even if you’re not a natural clairvoyant, you can still develop your clairvoyance. Flexing my clairvoyant muscles was the first thing I did when I started developing psychically. I picked up a great book called ‘Psychic Development for Beginners’ by William Hewitt and began using his exercises to open up my clairvoyance (the exercise is below)

I have to say that the below exercise opened up my clairvoyance quite spectacularly for a few days, then I got scared and shut it down again! I started to see my guides in my mind’s eye, I saw things moving in the corner of my eye, I saw coloured lights around people and I began to have really strange and vivid dreams, in colour. I wasn’t used to seeing so much, and it was overwhelming for me.

The exercise is this: visualize yourself holding seven balloons, of the colours red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet and indigo. Let the balloons go one by one, beginning with the red balloon. Watch them float up to the blue sky until they disappear before you release the next one.

If you’re not used to visualizing, then this exercise could be quite difficult for you at first. You may find it hard to concentrate or it may be difficult for you to visualize vividly or in colour. It all depends on how developed your imagination muscles are.

Any activity which uses your visual imagination is good for strengthening clairvoyance, because your imagination is the tool that Spirit uses to send you information, in the form of images. The more well-oiled your imagination cogs are, the easier it is for spirit to send you clear images. How can you tell the difference between what’s from your imagination and what’s from Spirit? When you receive an image from Spirit, you are not in control. You are not creating the image. It just appears in your mind’s eye without any active participation from you.

Another way to open up your clairvoyance: Imagine a third eye, between your eyebrows. Visualize the eyelid on your third eye opening up. All visualization does is set an intention to do something. If you visualize this regularly, you’re putting energy behind your intention to open up your third eye, the centre of your clairvoyance.

Blocks to clairvoyance

A few people who are natural clairvoyants never see any evidence of their clairvoyance. When this happens, it usually means there is a blockage or an energy leak at the third eye chakra. At the bottom of this there tends to be some trauma caused by having ’seen’ something unexpected or unpleasant.

There are two reasons why I personally do not put much effort into developing clairvoyance: one is that I don’t need it too much for my work and the second is that I don’t really want to see, because I had a scary experience in the past. When I was about seven, I was playing in my bed late at night, looked up and saw a woman standing in the corner of my room, by the door, staring at me. Just writing about it gives me the creeps. I have never been more frightened in my life than at that moment. All I can remember is pulling the covers over my head and hoping she’d go away. I remember my heart beating so fast that I thought it would burst! I think I decided at that point that seeing spirits sucked. Which is probably why I don’t like seeing spirits now. I have done some clearing work around that experience, but I remain reluctant to explore my clairvoyance further.

Lots of people have a blockage like this, due to some sort of frightening psychic experience. If this applies to you and you can locate or remember what is blocking your third eye, use my angelic healing exercise (method # 3) in the article Four ways to heal yourself - it really works.

Any general blocks to truth can also affect clairvoyance (and the overall state of your intuitive faculties). For example, if you live your life in a state of denial or falsehood, your clairvoyance will be weakened. If you want to have strong intuition, get into the habit of facing up to the truth in your life, if you’re not already. If you kid yourself about something on a regular basis, it weakens your trust in your own perceptions and intuition and this will affect your clairvoyance.

Further tips:

Place a lapis lazuli or clear quartz crystal over your third eye chakra. Or go into a crystal shop with the intention of finding the right crystal to help you to open up your third eye. You may feel really drawn to one crystal in particular which can help you.

When you’re working with your clairvoyance at first, it helps to close your eyes and use your mind’s eye rather than expecting to see things straight away with your physical eyes.

Use the affirmation ‘I am profoundly clairvoyant. It is safe for me to see’

Release and heal whatever fears/trauma you have around seeing spirits.

When clients book a manifesting love reading with me, it’s often because they really want to find their ideal match but keep attracting Mr/Ms Wrong over and over again and don’t know why it keeps happening.

The work that we do together invariably focuses on the client’s default patterns of attraction. A client may tell me that they’re wanting a relationship that is X, Y and Z, but I tend to uncover some pretty unconscious patterns of attraction in these readings which show that the client is attracting the total opposite of what they say they want.

So this article focuses on unconscious patterns of attraction in relationships, how you can recognize them and how you can clear them to bring in the new. Really all it takes is a genuine desire to create something different, a good look at your past and the conviction that you’re worthy of your desires.

Looking to your past for the answers

It’s kind of a common scenario isn’t it? People who attract the same kind of partner again and again. I used to be a pro at attracting men who were absolutely terrified of long-term relationships. I have a friend who attracts a lot of men who are self-destructive or self-sabotaging in some significant aspect of their lives. It seems uncanny how the same kind of partner or potential partner shows up again and again. It’s not a coincidence - there is a reason for it.

If it seems you’re unable to attract the relationship you want, you may have an old relationship story that no longer suits you, which needs clearing to make way for the new. Your old relationship story consists of one or more default patterns of attraction in relationships (and I’m not talking about sexual attraction, I’m talking about the law of attraction). A default pattern of attraction means that you attract a certain undesirable trait/qualities (or set of traits) over and over, without being conscious of it.

Your default patterns of attraction can have their origins in previous relationships or they can be learned from your parents, family or from society. And because like attracts like, once you start putting energy behind that default pattern of attraction (like when people complain that they only ever seem to attract the same types ), it takes root, becomes reinforced and this makes it harder to break out of.

Becoming conscious of your own old relationship story

A really simple way to become conscious of your patterns of attraction in relationships is to list all your past relationships- however short or long - and see what the common trait(s) are. You could also include potential partners.

I’m talking about the common traits which caused the end of the relationship or some conflict in the relationship. It may be a trait in either you or in your previous partner. You may see more than one common trait. For example, you may see among all your partners that they lacked commitment to you. You could see the pattern that you made projects of your partners and tried to change them. It could be that you mostly dated people who were controlling.

Once you identify what you are attracting that you no longer want, you can clear it. You could tell yourself that you don’t need to take ownership of what you have attracted into your life in the past. However, the more responsibility you can take for your past relationships, the more you can learn from them.

Why we must learn from past relationships in order to move on from them

The universe has an uncanny way of matching us up with the right person who can show us where there is an imbalance in our way of being. For example, the angry person often ends up with the scaredy cat who can’t stand up to them. The abuser ends up with the abusee. We attract people who teach us a lesson we need to learn. Sometimes those lessons are the most painful. If you’re the type who attracts angry people, ask yourself why this is. It could be that you need to get some boundaries and start respecting yourself. It could be that you grew up around angry people and never learned how to deal with them. And the universe is sending you another chance. If you are always attracting partners who need your help and rely on you too much, maybe it’s a call for you to heal your desire to change and make projects of other people. If your past partners have been too controlling, perhaps you could address what in you likes to be controlled.

Recognizing the lessons from our past is a healing process in itself. I learned in my cord-cutting training that you cannot cut an energetic cord to a previous partner until you know what the toxic patterns are contained within the cord and where they came from in the first place. I believe it’s the same with our experiences. If you don’t learn the lessons from your past relationships and see what they were showing you, life will continue to hit you over the head with the same experiences until you do.

The other interesting pattern in our relationships is that we not only attract people who are our polar opposite to teach us a lesson about the way we are and to find balance again - like the abuser attracting the abusee and so forth, we also tend to attract people who are like us (as in like attracts like).

So how does that work, considering what I’ve said above? It seems contradictory but both of those patterns can co-exist in relationships. If you attract angry, non-committal people, there will be a frequency in your energy field which resonates with anger, or lack of commitment. The people around us are also reflections of us, the good and the bad. If you’re always dissatisfied with less than perfect partners, then the real issue is that you are not entirely accepting of yourself. If you’re familiar with Byron Katie’s ‘the work’, you’ll know that she gets people to ‘turn it around’. If someone is complaining about their children being disrespectful, then she gets them to turn it around and see where they could be behaving in a disrespectful way towards their children. Once their mind has been opened to the possibility, the person doing the work can always see a reflection of themselves in the people around them and it’s always a significant discovery for them which releases something.

Bring in the new

If you’re letting go of what you don’t want - begin to focus on what you do want. Make a new, CONSCIOUS list of desirable traits that you’re seeking in a partner (a list of non-negotiables). Some examples are: must have a sense of humour, must be financially solvent, kindness, willingness to commit, etc

Get really clear on what you want. If you’ve experienced many unsatisfactory relationships, you probably already have an idea of what you do want, because you have experienced the opposite and that helps you to get clear on what you do want.

Then the next thing to do is to examine whether you’re a vibrational match for what you want. You may have been a vibrational match for an angry partner, or an abusive one, or a non-committal one, depending on what your default pattern(s) of attraction were, but how do you know if you’re a vibrational match to a kind, loving partner?

Look at your list of non-negotiables. Ask yourself whether you would date yourself. Do you have the traits on your list? For example, do you want a partner who is independent and has a social life when you don’t have one? Are you asking for a financially solvent partner when you’re broke?

It’s interesting, a few months back I read for a client who was struggling in her finances. She was trying to manifest a new partner and thought it would be nice to have a wealthy partner to help her in her finances. And you know what? She got a broke guy. He also wanted to manifest a wealthy partner, and she showed up. Like attracts Like. If you’re asking for too many things that you don’t have, then you may be asking someone to rescue you.

If there are some things in your list which you can’t provide, then commit to working on these as part of your process of attracting the ideal mate. Finding your ideal partner really does start from within. And it’s not about becoming perfect so that you can attract a perfect mate, it’s about becoming conscious of and eradicating the parts of you which attract undesirable traits by default. Once you change from inside, the rest of the world shifts in response to the new you, including the relationships which come your way.

Are you in a negative space right now? Feeling like your life is not within your control?

If so, I recommend… The new book by Esther and Jerry Hicks: ‘Money and the Law of Attraction’. It’s probably the most helpful and empowering book I’ve read this year.

I have studied the law of attraction for a while. I’ve watched the Secret and read the other Abraham-Hicks books, so I was hesitant about buying this new book because I thought that it would just be a re-hashing of their other stuff. But it has plenty of new material and a CD recording of a workshop they did. I listen to the CD every morning before work and it really sets the mood for my day and makes me feel great. I find that there are times in my life when I need a reminder to use the law of attraction deliberately and the CD that comes with this book does a great job of reminding me.

Something else that is interesting is that listening to Abraham speak (through Esther) on the CD actually ‘turns on’ my psychic awareness spontaneously and it’s as if I’m in the middle of a reading…weird!

I have been feeling so inspired that I now set aside a 20 minute period of time in my schedule to visualize good-feeling things happening in my life. It’s amazing to see how this is impacting my life and my mood.

My question to you is…are you consciously and CONSISTENTLY using the law of attraction to create what you want? In one of my readings, I ask clients’ spirit guides to tell me, on a scale of 1-30 to what degree that client is using the law of attraction to deliberately create the life they want. Most clients get around 15-16 out of 30. Those clients usually tell me that they are actually using the law of attraction consciously, but then they also reveal that they are self-sabotaging by expecting the worst all the time, and focusing on what they don’t want as well. You can’t focus on what you do want AND consistently focus on what you don’t want and expect to feel good.

If like most of my clients, you’re about at 16/30 on the law of attraction scale, then you probably rate your life at about 6 out of 10 at the moment. So how can you get to a 10?

1. Get really clear on what exactly would constitute a 10 out of 10 (i.e great) life for you

Don’t use the excuse that you can’t have the life you want. Dare to dream. I recently went to a business workshop and the facilitator gave us ten minutes to imagine our dream working day and write it down. We then had to present our description of our dream day to our group. This was a great exercise because it put us under pressure and we had to bring our dreams out onto paper. There are many dreams inside you which could become part of your reality. But they can never become part of your reality if you don’t allow them to exist first in your thoughts and admit you want them.

2. Identify the feeling behind the intention

Understand that behind every intention like ‘I want to make more money’ or ‘I want a life partner’, there is a desire for a certain feeling, like love or abundance or freedom. Identifying WHY you want something helps you to visualize it better. For example, if you want to earn more money, then visualizing pots and pots of money probably isn’t going to excite you. But what may excite you is imagining the freedom more money will bring. Imagine yourself enjoying your abundance with your family and friends or helping others with your money, for example. That is much more likely to generate the feelings of excitement needed to begin creating your desired intention.

3. Eliminate negative input in your life

The sort of input which tells you that you can’t have a 10/10 life, or that you don’t deserve one - this includes your own negative self-talk. If you don’t know where to even start with that, that’s definitely an intention you need to put out there! Once you do that, you begin to attract the people and resources that can help you.

4. Enjoy your 10/10 life…

…in your imagination! To begin with, it doesn’t even have to be for a long period of time. Abraham says that focusing on a good-feeling thought for just 68 seconds changes your vibrational resonance if you’re feeling bad.

5. Realize that the most important thing is not external circumstances, but how you feel.

How you feel indicates whether or not you’re going in the direction of your desired outcome. So you need to have good-feeling thoughts, whether they ‘match’ your external reality or not. If it’s difficult for you to have good-feeling thoughts, instead begin by visualize good-feeling things.

6. Remind yourself often that you are the empowered creator of your life.

Invest in books and other resources and visit websites which leave you feeling empowered and in control of your life.

A few years ago I really wanted to open up to the spirit realm and learn to connect with my spirit guides, but for months on end, fear stood in my way. I was scared of seeing/hearing ghosts, disembodied voices, evil entities and even my own spirit guides. I felt that hardly anyone could help me overcome this issue and most of those who did just said I had to ‘face the fear’, which I felt wasn’t much help because I was paralyzed by it! Later on I had some help and reassurance from other psychics and had many breakthroughs of my own in my understanding of the spirit world, which helped me to deconstruct my fear and see it for what it was. I will share some of these breakthroughs in this post.

Before I do, I just want to highlight that a certain level of comfort with exploring the spirit realm is definitely something worth attaining. We are meant to keep a connection to our own spirit. We are meant to receive guidance from our spirit guides. Connecting with spirit makes life easier and saves us hassle and energy when we’re going down the wrong road.

Here are some of my insights on fear of the spirit realm and how to overcome it:

Where fear comes from

Fear can be constructive in that it alerts us to danger. If we’re about to be pushed off a cliff, we will naturally feel some fear because we’re in danger of dying. And of course this kind of fear serves us.

But sometimes it’s difficult to distinguish between when you’re perceiving a really dangerous situation and when you’re preempting the possibility of danger in the future. For many people, fear has become an automatic response to protect them when they’re encountering new situations. So often when we’re in unknown territory, fear comes along and rears its head. “Watch out! You don’t know this territory! Anything could happen! Listen to me, I’m just trying to protect you!”

How helpful is this? Not very, in my view. Being in a state of fear is stressful, for the body, mind and spirit. Instead of allowing our fear to alert us to a real possibility of danger, we can be enslaved to our fear and constantly on edge, just in case something bad happens.

As fear is often unjustified, it can be helpful to challenge our fears when we’re doing something new. Fear is seldom alerting us to a genuine danger and this applies to psychic development too. What are you actually afraid of? You need to get clear on this so that you can deconstruct your fear. And deconstruct it you can, because a fear of the spirit world is always based on lack of a consciousness.

But the spirit world is frightening, isn’t it?

When I was doing psychic development, the pre-empting gremlins who used to pop up and alert me to danger ahead were the people around me. Some people felt I was in putting myself in a vulnerable position by exploring the spirit world and they told me so.

In our collective consciousness there definitely exists a belief that it’s better not to mess with the spirit realm. I heard that a lot when I was starting out - some people around me felt that I was playing with fire. Luckily I understood the spirit world enough to know that wasn’t true and I continued in my intuitive development. But those sorts of attitudes are enough to put many beginners off.

This collective attitude of fear stems from a lack of understanding of the spirit realm and how it helps us. Cultures who have a tradition of understanding and working with the spirit realm have no fear of it. For the Native American Indians, there is nothing scary about connecting with Spirit or with deceased ancestors. The very fact that we call connecting with spirit ’supernatural’ is telling. We make it into something that is unnatural, when spirit is who we are. We are meant to embrace the physical and spiritual worlds equally, not fear them.

Our culture has made an industry out of the ’supernatural’

It’s no wonder many of us are terrified of meeting ghosts in the night when we have the film industry which makes money from arousing a fear of the spirit realm. People love paying to be scared and thrilled, so it’s more profitable to exploit people’s fears than it is to portray reality. However, while people are paying to be scared, they’re unconsciously learning that the spirit realm is weird, terrifying and dangerous. If you see these movies and know little about the spiritual realm, you may end up believing that if you develop psychic abilities, you risk having objects moving around your living room, voices coming from your walls and faces appearing on your kitchen tiles. I can assure you that the reality of it is much less eventful. I see spirits (in my mind’s eye) and I hear a voice, (my inner voice - it sounds just like my own voice, so it’s not in the least bit scary).

Thankfully, scary happenings have just not been a part of my psychic development experience. I have not seen a spirit in front of me looking like a real person since I was seven years old. I have heard voices (like whisperings) upon occasion, but there is really nothing scary or intimidating about it. It was interesting more than scary. And this is the opinion of someone who two years ago was so paralyzed by fear of ghosts that I would not get up in the night to use the bathroom!

Negative forces

And then there is the fear of evil. If we open ourselves up to Spirit, don’t we encounter good spirits and bad spirits? I was scared more than once upon hearing that negative forces exist and that they eat girls like me for breakfast.

Yes, negative entities do exist. I clear a lot of negative energies – including negative entities - in my readings and I understand how they operate.

The most important thing to know is that negative forces look scary if you don’t know much about them, but once you understand how they function, you realize that they are nowhere near as powerful and scary as they appear. Let me explain…

We, as beings of Light get our vital life force from Source/God/the Creator (choose your favourite word). This is the energy which animates us, which feeds us.

Negative energies on the other hand are energies who have taken a vow of separation from Source or God thus they have no energy source of their own. Because they have no energy source of their own, they draw their power from other beings (like vampires). They do this by creating negativity in beings of light, which they can then siphon off. So negative entities inspire emotions like fear, anger, hatred, jealousy, resentment. They love limiting beliefs that inspire these emotions and thoughts. Lots of yummy soul food for them.

But we need to remember that there is no ’source’ of darkness to contend with. There is no Devil. Source or God is the only energy that is. Negative energies exist wherever there is an absence of Source, or light energy. That’s why they’re called dark energies.

When you feel fear in the presence of a negative entity, that nourishes the entity and it grows and expands. It gets scarier and scarier in proportion to your fear. You’re the one who’s feeding it. If you ignore or banish any class of negative entity, it shrinks and disappears. Quite simply, they are only as powerful as you allow them to be.

The first time I stood up to a negative entity it was so unscary it was laughable. A negative entity is a bit like a kid in a Scream mask on Halloween. Take his mask off and underneath is someone who’s just getting off on scaring people. If you don’t realize that his mask is just a mask, you may run away, screaming. You can be sure that the negative entity will run after you, to get more fear energy out of you. But if you turn back and face the entity and run after it and de-mask it, the entity will then go and find someone else to scare. Simple as that. So the best way to face your fear of the prince of darkness is to de-mask him and tell him to go and scare someone else.

There may be cases where people believe they have been harmed by negative forces. This all depends on your belief system. If you buy into your fears to such an extent that you really believe you can be harmed by negative forces, you may just let them do that. But negative forces cannot harm you without your collaboration. Even dark forces respect free will.

Dark energy does not exist to torment us

It really helps to understand why negative energies exist. Many people are afraid of negative forces because they think that dark energy exists just to torment us.

I have my own ideas about why negative energy exists. I know for certain that they are not here to torment us. I resonate strongly with something I read in the Conversations with God series, which is that negativity exists because God wanted to experience relativity; that the big bang was effectively a shattering of God energy into small particles (souls), so that God could experience itself as many polar opposites, including positive and negative, hot and cold, male and female, light and dark.

In seeing opposites, we get to experience negativity as well as positivity. In this process, we understand what we stand for and we identify ourselves as beings of Love and light. We identify with the God energy that we came from and we evolve in the learning of ourselves as beings of Light.

I have found from my spiritual healing work that if a client is encountering a negative entity (whether it’s an actual entity or even just a fear of it), many times the entity is helping the client to see who they really are on a soul level. That might sound odd, but it’s true. Negative entities can be quite helpful in that they show us where we’re buying into darkness. You will only attract an entity who scares you if you buy into the idea that you can be harmed by it; that there is something to fear. You attract entities which exploit your limiting beliefs about yourself.

So if you should ever become aware of the presence of a nasty spirit, you might want to think what is this entity showing you about your life. If the entity wants to scare you, how can you eliminate fear from your life? If the entity tells you you’re worthless, where are you believing that in your own mind? A negative entity cannot exploit your fear if you have no fear receptor in the first place.

So, some principles to remember when exploring the spirit realm:

Fear is based on a lack of consciousness about what you’re up against

Just because other people think the spirit realm might be scary doesn’t mean it is

Interaction with the spirit world is natural and beneficial and many native cultures think nothing of calling on their ancestors or guides

Focus on your fear and it will grow

You are in control of negative entities through the energy you feed them and you can’t be ‘attacked’ or victimized without your consent
