How to Prepare for your Reading with me
1. Set some intentions for your session
What do you want?
Is there something specific you want to create in your life or life areas you want to improve? Get clear on why you booked the reading and set an intention to get the information and perspective you need to create what you want.
If you’re not sure of your exact intentions, you can just ask your guides and Higher Self to give you the information you most need right now – and set an intention to have a really helpful session!
2. Prepare some questions
No matter which reading you book, there is always time for your questions and you can ask your spirit guides and Higher Self anything you like. Occasionally people are not prepared for this and don’t know what to ask, so they miss out! So, in order to get the most out of the session, think of some questions before the reading. It’s better to have too many than too few.
Note that we don’t usually go straight into your questions right at the beginning. First, I will spend a certain amount of time giving you information about you on the soul-level and I will also give you information on any blocks or negative energy that I find. (It depends on how much time you want to spend on this part – if you are having an issue reading and you want to keep this part brief, we can.)
3. Word your questions so that you don’t give away your power
“Should I take this job?”
- This is a tricky one because you won’t be instructed to take a certain path or not. (There is never a ‘right’ and a ‘wrong’ path – but there are certain pros and cons to each path that you may not be seeing. That’s where an intuitive can help.)
Instead of this you could ask:
-
- Is this job in my highest path and purpose?
(Your highest path and purpose means the path that brings you the most growth and fulfilment – it’s the optimal path BUT you don’t have to follow it.)
- To what extent is this job aligned with my highest path and purpose?
(I can dowse out a percentage for you.)
- Why is it aligned/not aligned with my highest path and purpose?
- What are the pros and cons of taking this job?
– if there are any pros or cons that you’re not seeing I will tell you.
Sometimes people ask things like:
“Should I leave my relationship/get a divorce?”
Again, you won’t be instructed to take a certain path. Instead you could ask:
-
- Does this relationship align fully with my highest path and purpose? (the path that brings you the most joy and fulfilment).
- You can also ask – is this a relationship that brings me growth through joy or through struggle? (growth can happen through both positive and negative experiences.)
- Which life lessons am I learning in this relationship?
- How can I improve this relationship?
(for this one, the guides almost always give you something you can do to work on yourself instead of focusing on the other person.)
For relationship questions, it helps to have a photo of the other person. That way, I can often tell you about what I call the ‘energy chemistry’ between you – the impact this person has on you and various chakras when you interact.
4. Have an open mind to the messages that come through
Sometimes people book a reading and they want me to tell them what they want to hear. I know that in the past I myself have booked a reading for the same reason. I remember a few years ago, I had one reading in particular where I was told something that was quite painful for me to accept. So, I told myself the psychic had got it wrong. I was even quite angry about what she had said. But over the next several months I saw evidence of what she had said and so I knew that she hadn’t got it wrong. But at the time I wasn’t ready to face what she told me, so I discarded it.
Obviously you’re hiring me to tell you the truth of what I see. So I will tell you. So make sure that if you ask a tricky question, you are open to hearing the answer that I’m given!
5. Just before the reading…
It helps if you do a little meditation before the session. This just calms your energy. Spend a few minutes observing your breath and bringing your attention to the present moment. That way you can be more ‘present’ to the experience.
If there are pets in the room with you, move them into another room, and make sure you’re alone so that you’re not distracted!
Finally, enjoy the experience!
